Mentor Jackets and Student Send-offs

We are in the midst of summer, but soon enough students will be returning to campus, and new students will start their Tech journey. The Young Alumni Council hopes that you will attend student send-off events in your area to help usher in the newest class of Yellow Jackets, and lend your advice on getting through the next 4 (or 5) years. It’s easy to find one near you – just .

Another great way to get meet current GT students is to host a group of them for Dinner Jackets. This is a unique opportunity for our Atlanta based alumni to sit down with current students and treat them to a meal outside of Brittan Dining Hall. The Alumni Association is currently looking for hosts – young alumni are encouraged to partner with friends to host students at their homes or out to dinner...

ROTC Leads Alumnus to a Career in the Military and Publishing His First Book

Georgia Tech’s ROTC programs have prepared Yellow Jackets for military careers, since as early as 1917. While once a required part of life at Tech, today’s ROTC participants are an elite group dedicated to serving our country. As showcased by the most recent Georgia Tech Alumni Magazine, many alumni have made great legacies in the military field.

Jeff Clements (ME 08) is a young alum who, since graduation, has served in the United States Marine Corps, and has written his first book. “The Lieutenant Don’t Know”, was published in April of this year and has received strong reviews for Jeff’s depiction of his experience as a truck platoon commander for Combat Logistics Battalion 6 in Afghanistan...


Registration for the 2014-2015 Mentor Jackets cycle opens July 1st.

Mentor-to-mentee pairing will begin in early September 2014 and run through late December 2014.
